    Dua for entering the restroom

    (Before entering) ”[In the Name of Allah]. (Then) O Allah, I seek protection in You from the male and female unclean spirits.”
    (بِسْمِ الله) اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أَعـوذُ بِـكَ مِـنَ الْخُـبْثِ وَالْخَبائِث

    [Bismillaahi] Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika minal-khubthi walkhabaa’ith.

    Bismillaahi(بِسْمِ الله)[In the Name of Allah].
    Allaahumma اللّهُـمَّO Allah
    ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika إِنِّـي أَعـوذُ بِـكَ I seek protection in You
    minal-khubthi مِـنَ الْخُـبْثِ from the male unclean spirits
    walkhabaa’ithوَالْخَبائِث and female unclean spirits

  • Dua for Entering the Masjid

     

    [And peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.]
    [And peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.]
    Read this dua when you enter the masjid (mosque).
    “I seek refuge in Almighty Allah, by His Noble Face, by His primordial power, from Satan the outcast.1
     [In the Name of Allah, and blessings.]2
     [And peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.]3 
    O Allah, open before me the doors of Your mercy.4″
    أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ الْعَظِيمِ، وَبِوَجْهِهِ الْكَرِيمِ، وَسُلْطَانِهِ الْقَدِيمِ، مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ. [بِسْمِ اللهِ، وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَّامُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ] اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
    ‘A’oothu billaahil-‘Adheem, wa bi-Wajhihil-Kareem, wa Sultaanihil-qadeem, minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem.

    There is also a report in Sunan Ibn Majah on the authority of Fatimah (Radi Allahu anha), : “O Allah, forgive me my sins and open for me the doors of Your mercy.” It was graded authentic by Al-Albani due to supporting Ahadith. See Sahih Ibn Majah

    In the Name of Allah we enter, in the Name of Allah we leave, and upon our Lord we depend [then say As-Salaamu ‘Alaykum to those present].


    بِسْمِ اللهِ وَلَجْنَا، وَ بِسْمِ اللهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَى رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا

    Bismillaahi walajnaa, wa bismillaahi kharajnaa, wa ‘alaa Rabbanaa tawakkalnaa

    Abu Dawud 4/325. Muslim {Hadith no. 2018) says that one should mention the Name of Allah when entering the home and when beginning to eat; and that the devil, hearing this, says: “There is no shelter for us here tonight and no food”.

  • Dua for entering a market

    None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise. He brings life and He causes death, and He is living and does not die. In His Hand is all good, and He is Able to do all things.

     
    لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّه وحدَهُ لا شريكَ لهُ، لهُ المُلْـكُ ولهُ الحَمْـد، يُحْيـي وَيُميـتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لا يَمُـوت، بِيَـدِهِ الْخَـيْرُ وَهوَ عَلىَ كلّ شيءٍ قَدِيرٌ
     
    Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, yuhyee wa yumeetu, wa Huwa hayyun laa yamootu, biyadihil-khayru, wa Huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in Qadeer.

  • Dua for entering a town or city

    “O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all they overshadow, Lord of the seven worlds and all they uphold, Lord of the devils and all they lead astray, Lord of the winds and all they scatter. I ask You for the goodness of this town and for the goodness of its people, and for the goodness it contains. I seek refuge in You from its evil, from the evil of its people and from the evil it contains.”

     
    أللّـهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّـمواتِ السّـبْعِ وَما أَظْلَلَـنَ، وَرَبَّ الأَراضيـنَ السّـبْعِ وَما أقْلَلْـنَ، وَرَبَّ الشَّيـاطينِ وَما أَضْلَلْـنَ، وَرَبَّ الرِّياحِ وَما ذَرَيْـنَ، أَسْـأَلُـكَ خَيْـرَ هذهِ الْقَـرْيَةِ وَخَيْـرَ أَهْلِـها، وَخَيْـرَ مَا فِيهَا، وَأَعـوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَـرِّها وَشَـرِّ أَهْلِـها، وَشَـرِّ مَا فِيهَا
     
    Allaahumma Rabbas-samaawaatis-sab’i wa maa ‘adhlalna, wa Rabbal-‘aradheenas-sab’i wa maa ‘aqlalna, wa Rabbash-shayaateeni wa maa ‘adhlalna, wa Rabbar-riyaahi wa maa tharayna. ‘As’aluka khayra haathihil-qaryati wa khayra ‘ahlihaa, wa khayra maafeehaa, wa ‘a’oothu bika min sharrihaa, wa sharri ‘ahlihaa, wa shard maa feehaa.
    Al-Hakim who graded it authentic and Ath-Tfaahabi agreed 2/100, and Ibn As-Sunni (no. 524). Al-Hafidh graded it good in his checking of Al-‘Athkar 5/154. Ibn Baz said in Tuhfatul-‘Akhydr p. 37, that An-Nasa’i recorded it with a good chain of narration.
